The business meeting started after the music circle, around 1:15 pm. The announcements were:
1. The next meetings are: July 19 and August 16 (picnic). These will be at the regular time. There is no meeting in June, due to the RCAC accordion camp and the Scandinavian Festival in Astoria. As most of you know, there is no meeting in September because of many Oktoberfest events.
2. Those members attending camp, please bring some chips and dips for evening gatherings and the after-party on Thursday night.
3. “Back to Basics” workshops on ForScore and/or Musescore might be arranged in the Fall or Winter if there is enough interest. If those preparing for Oktoberfest gigs want a refresher in these, let me know and perhaps we’ll have an informal session before then.
4. RCAC Accordion Camp begins in two weeks. There are 33 in the orchestra as of now. Camp begins the afternoon of June 1 and concludes with a concert June 5 and campers leaving on June 6. Collins Retreat Center in Eagle Creek, Or. is the site for camp. The next newsletter will be devoted to sharing this wonderful week that we look forward to every year.
5. Lynne Clarke, a new member of the club, is now an at-large member of the board. Lynne does not play the accordion but is a # 1 fan of the accordion.
6. Jeff Nelson will be the Music Circle leader in July. Watch for his song picks about July 1.
