President's Message:

Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope you all have a good time getting together with family and friends as the holiday season starts.

Saturday's meeting on November 16, 2024 was a delightful gathering of friendship and music.  We laughed and enjoyed the afternoon with each other.

The December meeting is Saturday, December 21st.  The meal will be catered by Ohana, Hawaiian Restaurant in Milwaukie.  The agenda is as follows:

12:00-12:30--set up (plates and utensils provided; tablecloths welcome);

12:30--Time to eat (bring your own drinks and a dessert to share);

Followed by Music Circle, led by Marlene Meissner (Christmas songs provided);

Individual Performances follow music circle.

Note:  if the weather turns bad (snow, ice, etc) we will cancel.  I will email members to let you know definitely we are cancelling.

We had two guests come to Saturday's meeting.  One from McMinneville and the other from Salem.  Thank you for joining us and I hope we inspired you in your accordion playing.

Dues for 2025 are due by February 1, 2025.  Information of how to pay is on the Membership page.

As many of you know Valri Chiappetta and I have been VP and President for 4 years.  This will be our final year in these roles.  It's been our pleasure to serve you.  Now it's time for others to take up the helm of our club.  I'm asking members to carefully consider if this is something you might be willing to do.  The positions are 2-year terms with a limit of 6 years.  Voting takes place next November (2025).  I am going to mention this frequently in the upcoming year so everyone has an opportunity to consider the possibility of serving in these roles.  This is a wonderful group of people with whom it is easy to be in these positions.

Susan Schwab updated the club on the 2025 Accordion Camp.  As of now all the rooms are filled but there are still some beds available.  There's still room in the orchestra but participants will have to commute from Sandy or Estacada. If anyone is still interested in attending the camp, see the page on the website for camp information.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and see you for the Christmas celebration.
